I’m a retired communication professor (professing at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa for 35 years). My main fields of expertise were journalism (the writing of it, specifically) and speech. I used to be a reporter before I was a teacher (and because I was a reporter, people asked me to speak to their civic groups, garden clubs and etc. … which is why, when I taught speech, I knew whereof I spoke). Before I was a reporter, I was a grad student in journalism at the University of Iowa. And before that, I wandered the country aimlessly for five years. Because, before that, I was an English major.

I still write and do voiceovers. I only retired from teaching.
